PARENT CARER FORUMS (PCFS) AND PINS
Parent Carer Forums (PCFs) play a vital role in the PINS programme by ensuring parent/carer voices shape school improvements. The forums work in partnership with schools to create meaningful engagement pathways between the neurodivergent children and their families and education settings.
Aims of Parent Carer Forums in PINS
By working together, schools and PCFs ensure the needs of neurodivergent children are understood and supported effectively. PCFs aim to:
- Open lines of communication between the families of neurodivergent children and schools
- Enable parents/carers to share their knowledge and experiences of support and services with school leaders via PCF representatives
- Promote opportunities for parents/carers to contribute to improving the support the school offers
- Help schools respond to parent/carer feedback in a solution-focused way
